gullbladder

Five hundred to seven hundred thousand people have a cholecystectomy, which is the removal of the gallbladder, every year in America. They may do so believing that all their gallstone-related troubles will be gone after the surgery. What many do not realize is that a cholecystectomy can bring complications and require lifelong dietary changes for those choosing the operation. Because gallbladder removal can create problems, patients should consider a gallstone flush as a better first step toward restoring health.

Cholecystectomies are usually performed laparoscopically, meaning by placing tubes, a special telescope, and instruments in the abdominal wall through four small incisions. The gallbladder also can be removed in the traditional manner via a six-inch cut into the abdomen. Scars are left behind after either procedure. Either way, removal of the gallbladder comes with consequences, including complications due to the surgery itself. On the other hand, flushing the gallstones out over time has neither complications nor scarring.

During the surgical procedure, arteries may accidentally be cut, leading to bleeding. Unfortunately, in some cases, the hepatic artery (a main artery that supplies blood to the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and duodenum) is cut. Not only is bleeding a concern, but also possible liver failure through the lack of blood supply to the liver may occur. Another problem that can occur during the surgery is the accidental cutting of the gallbladder itself. When that happens, stones and bile spill into the abdominal cavity. Even if a surgeon believes he or she has collected all the loose stones, patients may be required to use antibiotics longer in order to prevent abscesses from forming. Antibiotic use leads to other digestive problems through the killing of good bacteria. Postoperative nausea may also result from the anesthesia. With flushing, however, no bleeding, antibiotic use, or anesthesia use occurs.

The common bile duct drains bile from the gallbladder to the small intestine. This duct is often injured during traditional gallbladder surgeries and neighboring organs are sometimes cut when the gallbladder is removed laparoscopically. Sometimes additional surgery may be required to repair these cuts. Inflammation and infection can occur as a result of leaking bile from a surgical error. With flushing, the stones leave without the use of knives or injury.

All surgeries, including this one, come with common complications like blood clots, bleeding, infections, pneumonia, and heart problems. Side effects for cholecystectomies also include flatulence, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, pancreatitis, and weakness. From nearly constant emptying of bile into the small intestine, diarrhea can happen in some people after eating fatty foods just after surgery. For others, diarrhea becomes a chronic condition. Avoiding deep fried foods, ice-cream, alcohol, chocolate, margarine, and caffeine assists the flushing process; however, abstaining is a choice. Some patients, who have their gallbladders removed, may never have the choice as they may never be able to tolerate these foods again.

The most common reason to have a gallbladder removed is because of gallstones causing pain and obstructing the bile. Another reason is due to suffering from a malfunctioning gallbladder in general. Both groups may find their conditions helped by taking a year to do gallstone flushing, for doing so may help them avoid surgery altogether.

ATTENTION juicers- way to go TUMERIC

Curcumin, the active anti-inflammatory compound found in the Indian spice tumeric, has gained an impressive reputation in the fight against many deadly forms of cancer. New evidence released in the journal Cancer Research finds that the natural phenol can slow prostate tumor growth by blocking receptors used to propagate cell tissue growth.

Additional research published in the journal PLoS One explains the precise mechanism exerted by curcumin molecules to target the amyloid fibrils associated with the unnatural progression of protein-like plaque tangles that are characteristic in Alzheimer's disease patients. Adding curry spice to your healthy diet or supplementing daily with a standardized curcumin capsule will help win your individual war against cancerous proliferation and Alzheimer's dementia.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of the disease, with more than 250,000 diagnoses in the US each year. Any natural compound that targets the proliferation of prostate cancer cells would provide a significant remedy compared with the allopathic methods of radiation, surgery and chemical agents. To conduct the study, researchers subjected prostate cancer cells to hormone deprivation in the presence and absence of curcumin with 'physiologically attainable' doses.

Curcumin blocks prostate cell receptors to thwart cancer progression

The researchers found that curcumin blocked two genetic receptors necessary for prostate cancer advancement. These receptors have been shown is past studies to predict cancer incidence and rate of growth of existing tumors. They noted that the spice extract was "a potent inhibitor of both cell cycle and survival in prostate cancer cells."

The lead study author, Dr. Karen Knudsen and her team found that other cancer cell lines multiply by a similar receptor mechanism and may also be inhibited by the curry compound. She commented that curcumin "also has implications beyond prostate cancer... in other malignancies, like breast cancer. In tumors where these play an important function, curcumin may prove to be a promising therapeutic agent."

In a separate research body, scientists found that curcumin prolongs life and enhances activity of brain neurons, acting as a neuroprotective shield against Alzheimer's disease advancement. The research team determined that curcumin acted to prevent the damaging accumulation of amyloid fibrils around the nerve synapse. Amyloid tangles are known to prevent normal electrical and chemical transmissions required to form memories and maintain cognition.

Scientific research models continue to extol the virtues of natural spice and herbal extracts such as curcumin to help prevent and treat many deadly diseases that kill countless millions each year. Incorporate curry spices as part of your healthy diet or include a daily supplement (250 mg to 500 mg standardized curcumin extract) to significantly lower cancer risk and support healthy brain function.

probiotic ????

Probiotics are friendly bacteria that live in your digestive tract and essentially influence every aspect of health, from neurotransmitter production to immunity to digestion. But these beneficial little microflora must eat in order to survive and thrive. What is their food of choice? Prebiotics!

What Are Prebiotics?

Donna Gates, author of The Body Ecology Diet, explains: "Prebiotics are derived from insoluble fiber and fructooligosaccharides or FOS (carbohydrate molecules made up of a relatively small number of simple sugars)."

These prebiotics are the ideal nourishment for beneficial bacteria living in the digestive tract. By feeding them well, you give friendly microorganisms the chance to establish a viable population that can not only perform important tasks in the digestive system, but also keep pathogenic bacteria like yeast under control.

Prebiotics Benefits

The benefits of prebiotics are far-reaching. While directly affecting gut flora balance and digestive health, prebiotics have also been shown to have beneficial affects on:

- Heart health
- Triglyceride levels
- Cholesterol levels
- Immunity to common illnesses
- Osteoporosis
- Diabetes

One particular advantage of prebiotics is that they do not need special care. Probiotics, on the other hand, have to be carefully handled to ensure the organisms stay alive through packaging, shipment and storage. This does not always happen, and it's difficult to tell if a probiotic supplement or food contains live cultures or not. Prebiotics, however, are carbohydrates that do not need any special care to remain effective.

Foods that Contain Prebiotics

There are many foods that contain one or more of the various prebiotics. Here is a partial list:

- oats
- wheat
- garlic
- onions
- Jerusalem artichoke
- leeks
- asparagus
- chicory
- milk (organic raw certified)
- bananas

There may be particular advantages to eating probiotics and prebiotics together so the two can work synergistically. Yogurt with bananas or onions and live sauerkraut are excellent options for pairing these two beneficial substances in an appealing way.

Prebiotics for Infants

Breastmilk is also a good source of prebiotics, which is yet another reason why breastfeeding is such a healthy choice for infants. Establishing a healthy colony of gut flora as early as possible is essential for healthy growth and development. Studies also indicate that formula-fed infants benefit from prebiotic supplementation.

Prebiotics Supplements

The most popular prebiotics supplements usually contain fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which is a form of inulin typically derived from chicory. These supplements may be beneficial to those looking to increase their intake of prebiotics. However, they lack the synergy of choosing whole foods that naturally contain prebiotics. A prebiotics supplement cannot replace a wholesome, balanced diet.

(NaturalNews) Probiotics and digestive enzymes prevent colds and flu; research has shown. Probiotics are the healthy bacteria that live in the intestines. Harmful bacteria include those like E. coli (Escherichia col), etc, but there are many bacteria that inhabit our gut that help with our digestion. Now, studies have shown that probiotics also help the immune response by both preventing colds and flu and speeding recovery time.

Probiotics are included in many forms of yogurt, kefir, and other cultured milk products, such as sour cream. Most probiotics help the immune system prevent diseases such as irritable bowel, diarrhea, and allergies.

A study published in the medical journal Pediatrics was conducted on 326 children in China. They were from the age of three to five years old. The children were given milk twice daily that contained the probiotics Lactobacillus acidophilus by itself, or combined with Bifidobacterium animalis. The children were followed for six months, from November 2005 to May 2006.

The study results were impressive and showed that the one probiotic was helpful but the benefit was enhanced in the group who took the two probiotics together. The group who took the Lactobacillus contracted had half the number of fevers of the placebo group (53%). They also had 41% less coughs and 28% less runny noses. When they became sick, their illnesses were one third shorter than the placebo group (32%) and they used 68% less antibiotics. They missed 38% less school than the placebo group as well.

The children who took both Lactobacillus acidophilus along with the Bifidobacterium animalis contracted over two thirds less fevers than the placebo group (72%). They had 62% less coughs, and 59% less runny noses. Their duration of illness was nearly HALF of that in the placebo group (48%). They missed slightly less school than the children taking only one probiotic (32% compared to the other group's 38%), but they used 84% less antibiotics compared to the placebo group, surpassing the other group's level of 68% less usage.

The study was double blind and placebo controlled, and it was conducted during the winter cold and flu season. Though the study was funded by a Danish company that makes probiotics, Danisco, similar results have been sited elsewhere.

With the benefits from probiotics proven in other areas of digestive health and improved immune function, there is reason to add probiotics to a healthy diet regime year-round.

probiotics????

Researchers from Ohio State University (OSU) have identified an important connection between stress and health. According to their study, which was published in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, stress directly affects the delicate bacterial balance in the intestines that digests food, defends against harmful bacteria, and regulates proper immune function.

Dr. Michael Bailey and his colleagues discovered that bodily stress changes the composition, diversity, and number of gut bacteria. As a result, the smaller array of bacteria ended up giving way to more harmful varieties, throwing off the entire balance and jeopardizing the integrity of the immune system.

"These bacteria affect immune function, and may help explain why stress dysregulates the immune response," said Bailey. "These changes can have profound implications for physiological function."

Imbalanced or lacking gut bacteria is responsible for a wide variety of ailments and diseases, including inflammatory bowel diseases like Chron's, infections, malnutrition, organ failure, obesity, heart disease, and cancer. And since previous research has established that roughly 80 percent of overall immune function is dependent on a healthy gut, it is important to maintain vibrant intestinal flora (http://www.naturalnews.com/healthy_bacteria.html).

"Alterations in intestinal flora are thought to play a role in many gastrointestinal disease conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (eg., colitis and Chron's disease) and systemic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis," writes Allison Tannis in her book, Probiotic Rescue: How You Can Use Probiotics to Fight Cholesterol, Cancer, Superbugs, Digestive Complaints and More. "Research has found probiotics play a protective and beneficial role in these disease conditions."

Probiotics have become exceedingly popular in recent years - and with a good reason. These little inhabitants of our gut help us stay healthy by improving our digestion, enhancing immunity, and even normalizing cholesterol levels. However, not all probiotics are created equal. Nowadays the market is flooded with so many different products that it may simply confuse the customer. Here are three common mistakes made by consumers when choosing a probiotic supplement:

1. Not choosing clinically tested strains
Don't fall for scams. You may be surprised to learn that some specific supplements still contain numerous probiotic strains with no safe history in human nutrition. Ironically, such products can lead to further deterioration in health.

There's only a handful of probiotic cultures that have been tested to have a beneficial impact on one's health. Some of them are listed bellow:

  • Bifidobacterium bifidum
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Bifidobacterium longum
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus
  • Lactobacillus casei
  • Lactobacillus bulgaricus

2. Not taking a sufficient amount
Probiotics need to be taken in sufficient amounts in order to really benefit your health. A general rule of thumb is that 2-10 billion CFU (Colony Forming Units) is protective and preventive, while 20 billion daily should be enough if you're recovering from an illness.

One more tip: Try to choose products that clearly state each dose's CFU. Avoid those probiotics that list ingredients only by weight. Plain and simply, you should take the same amount of CFUs as that shown to be effective in clinical studies.

3. Not reading customer reviews
One of the best and easiest ways to determine the quality of any supplement is to read consumer reviews and product ratings. Take your time and find out what people who tried the product had to say. Are there any side effects to be aware of? Has the probiotic actually helped others?

Probiotics can be an intelligent way to respond to various ailments. There are some mistakes which people naturally come across when purchasing probiotic supplements but they can be easily avoided with a bit of research. You can learn more about how probiotics can benefit your health by reading articles listed in the resources section below.

cabbage-probiotics

If you make fermented cabbage now you will have it to eat after your juice fast.

(NaturalNews) Raw, fermented foods are brimming with health-promoting probiotics and have been staples of the human diet for thousands of years. One such ancient food is sauerkraut, produced simply by covering cabbage with water and letting it sit for several weeks. Naturally occurring bacteria on the surface of the cabbage leaves thrive in this environment, chemically changing the cabbage and increasing its B vitamin content. Perhaps as importantly, fermented cabbage takes much longer to go bad than fresh cabbage.

Ancient sailors took advantage of this superfood and brought casks of sauerkraut along with them on long voyages to stave off scurvy, the debilitating disease of vitamin C deficiency that was one of the main hazards of the profession. Shipboard records show that this condition was nearly absent on ships that carried sauerkraut.

You can get the nutritional and immune-boosting benefits of sauerkraut by buying it from the refrigerated section of your grocery store (pasteurization kills the probiotics) or simply by making it yourself. There are some great videos that show this process on TV.naturalnews.com, including:

(NaturalNews) Sauerkraut combines the health benefits offered by all cruciferous vegetables (a category which includes cauliflowers and brussel sprouts as well as cabbage) with the probiotic advantages derived from the fermentation process.

Cabbage offers a host of health benefits. It is high in vitamins A and C. Studies have shown the cruciferous vegetables can help lower cholesterol levels. Cabbage also provides a rich source of phytonutrient antioxidants. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties, and some studies indicate it may help combat some cancers. However, this already helpful vegetable becomes a superfood when it is pickled.

The fermentation process used to make sauerkraut was probably first developed centuries ago simply as a means of preserving vegetables for easy consumption throughout the winter. The health benefits derived from pickling vegetables were already well-known to early civilizations. Historical evidence suggests laborers on the Great Wall of China consumed a version of the pickled cabbage dish 2,000 years ago.

Traditional Chinese has long prescribed sauerkraut juice as a home remedy for many common ailments . The armies of Genghis Khan most likely first brought the dish to Europe. The Roman army traveled with barrels of sauerkraut, using it to prevent intestinal infections among the troops during long excursions.

In periods and cultures when natural healing methods fell into disuse, people consumed fewer fermented foods and were subject to more illness. Scurvy (vitamin C deficiency) killed many British sailors during the 1700s, especially on longer voyages. In the late 1770s, Captain James Cook circumnavigated the world without losing a single sailor to scurvy, thanks to the foods his ship carried, including sixty barrels of sauerkraut.

Mainstream health experts began to pay renewed attention to sauerkraut after a study published in The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry in 2002. Finnish researchers reported that in laboratory studies,a substance produced by fermented cabbage, isothiocyanates, helped prevent the growth of cancer.

Even before the laboratory study, however, alternative health experts extolled the healing benefits of sauerkraut because of the lactic acid bacteria produced as a side-effect of the pickling process.

Healthy human colons contain many beneficial bacteria which feed on the waste left over from our digestion, creating lactic acid. Without these beneficial bacteria the human digestive system becomes home to harmful parasites and yeasts, resulting in the condition of candida.

Sauerkraut provides a high density source of a wide range of beneficial live bacteria which assist in the digestive process. Consuming a serving of sauerkraut can give your body as much of a health boost as many of the expensive probiotic drinks and supplements sold in stores. However, most commercially sold sauerkraut have lost most of their beneficial bacterial organisms. To gain the most benefits from sauerkraut, you may want to purchase it freshly made, or learn how to make your own.

If you want to explore recipes for making sauerkraut and other fermented dishes, an excellent place to start is with Sandor Ellis Katz's Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition and Craft of Live Culture Foods.

In his book, Katz points out that "Fermentation not only preserves nutrients, it breaks them down into more digestible forms." Katz, who also wrote The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved: Inside America's Underground Food Movements, recommends not only eating sauerkraut but drinking the juice which he calls "a rare delicacy and unparalleled digestive tonic."

toxin ????

A toxin is any substance that causes irritating or harmful effects in your body. We acquire toxins from our envirment by breathing them in by ingesting them, or though physical contact. Every day we are exposed to new and stronger chemicals, air and water pollution, and radiation. We use more drugs, eat more sugar and refine foods, and turn to damaging props such as alcohol and tobacco to help us deal with rising stress levels. Internally, our bodies produce toxins through normal everday functions. Biochemical,
draft

Rodent hill wonders????toxin free

On average, babies in the United States are born with 167 chemicals in their bloodstream. In a typical day, all of us may be exposed to about 200 toxic chemicals, many thought to cause cancer, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's. You can protect yourself by making a conscious choice to live toxin free. .Difficulty: Moderately ChallengingInstructions.1Evaluate your environment. Check your cleaning and personal care products for the following super toxic ingredients: Propylene Glycol (PG), Butylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Sodium Hydroxide, Triclosan, DMDM, Urea (Imidazolidnyl), Parabens, Alcohol, Isopropyl (SD-40) and mineral oil. Purchase natural products and get rid of everything else. 2Replace personal care items, such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, bath oil, hand lotion and others with products containing natural ingredients, no petroleum-bases and no synthetic fragrances. If you need motivation to change brands, it might surprise you to know the FDA doesn't regulate the cosmetics industry. 3Switch to non-toxic, biodegradable laundry detergents and fabric softeners that don't contain chlorine, phosphates, strong fragrances or dyes. For example, try adding ½ cup vinegar to the rinse cycle of your wash. Don't worry, the vinegar smell goes away when it dries and leaves your clothes nice and soft. 4Change to chemical-free household cleaning products. Look in your kitchen for ingredients like Borax, vanilla, vinegar, salt, corn starch, lemon juice and baking soda, all great cleaners and deodorizers. If you don't want to make your own cleaning supplies, check online for several companies that offer toxin-free solutions. 5Consider replacing anything in your home treated with formaldehyde, such as bedding and carpeting. You can find non-treated, cotton percale sheets and sources for toxin-free carpeting online. 6Watch what you breathe. Buy an air purifier with a HEPA filter. Or do-it-yourself with houseplants that absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen back into the air. 7Revamp your drinking and eating habits. juice fast

Stage 4 (Day 16 to Day 30)The body is completely adapted to the fasting process. There is more energy and clarity of mind. Cleansing periods can be short with many days of feeling good in between. There are days when the tongue is pink and the breath is fresh. The healing work of the organs is being completed. After the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or render it harmless, the body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue. While a short fast will reduce the symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal. Homeostatic balance is at optimum levels. The lymphatic system is clean except for a rare discharge of mucus through the nose or throat. After day 20, the mind is affected. Heightened clarity and emotional balance are felt at this time. Memory and concentration improve.

I'm Eating What?! Gross Hidden Foodstuffs
Written by Jill Ettinger
Share361
Processed foods can contain some seriously gross ingredients.
All right, let's be honest, food is pretty gross before Alice Waters or Mario Batali zhuzhes it up. We eat bugs in our lettuce all the time. There's dirt and grime on most of our fruits and veggies, and unless you've been living in a cave somewhere, you know by now that conventional factory-farmed animal flesh and dairy products are dizzz-gusting! But did you know there are hosts of other innocuously named ingredients that are pretty darn nasty?
Castoreum is a flavoring commonly added to enhance anything raspberry. Logic would tell us that it probably is a concentrated raspberry derivative, or at least coming from some type of berry. And I guess you might call the anal gland of a beaver berry-like, especially since that is the source of castoreum. I'm sorry, castoreyummmmm.
Ever send back a meal at a restaurant because you found a hair in your sandwich? Well, joke's on you—that bread may actually have hairs intentionally in the mix. L-cysteine or cystine can be made from human hair and/or duck feathers.
Confectioner's glaze sounds harmless enough. You might think it's a syrup coating, which it is. It just happens to come from the Lac beetle, who converts tree sap into resin, similar to a bee's production of honey. The Lac resin is collected, crushed and made into food glaze.
Carmine also called Crimson Lake, Cochineal, Natural Red #40, C.I. 75470, or E120, is a red coloring frequently found in candies, fruit drinks, fruit flavored yogurt and cosmetics. It is actually made from the dead, ground-up husks of female red beetles.
Next time you're thinking about enjoying a nice gum chew, you might want to ask yourself how you feel about rolling sheep goo around in your mouth for hours. Lanolin, which is also often added to body care products, is the oily substance secreted by sheep into their thick wooly fur. Gums will often list the ingredient as "gum base" because of standards where manufacturers are not required to list out each ingredient.
We weren't all that shocked to see Taco Bell called out for its less-than-beefy burrito meat, which contains a host of nasty ingredients including silicon dioxide, which is, yes, sand. It's also added to Wendy's chili and a bunch of other processed food items to prevent caking.

So i had a customer,,,,,,, and some times people just puzzle me.
1,What is the calorie count on a veggie juice. really here my thought calorie counting is for people who don't really know what real food is.if you eat real live food you don't count calories.
2. why do vegetarians  get sick if they  eating so good shouldn't it keep you well. Fake foods hey if you don't eat chicken then why do you want it to taste like chicken, fake this fake that,,twisted and turn into a Turkey, hot dog, fake gray hey eat live realllll foood..soy is not good for you not as a staple, soy ,soy soy, tooo much soy...  AND last but most IMPORTANT to,,, one all persons of and diet or not diet I have a sure fire way to see if your eating right. You don't need to pay 100's of dollars to a doc. or 100's in test God put the gage in your body for you. YOUR PH get some PH strips and test your self if your acid well gooogle
Alkali-Forming Foods  but be sure you get all the fact. look for more than one list check your source. com pair all the list and if you read an item on many of them than it is most likely true. There are many that put info out there with out proof but I'm sure you know that.
PH is true no matter who you decide to listen to about a cure or about a diet if your ph is not balanced they are full of it. When you balance your PH you are there and no that doesn't mean 20 cucumbers aday  and nothing else or something crazy like that. You need to eat a rainbow of colors and never the same thing over and over week after week ,month after month the same thing. There's a few things you should do the same every day.
1. eat at the same times every day.
2. go to bed and get up the same Yes on your day off to.
wow wee sounds like the old days,,,yep seems we always get back to how they did it in the day. what grandma did or something. Well, yep, that's it.
3. and when your on track you poop ,yep I said poop the same time every day.  Now did I say set on the john at the same time for a long time til ya get hemorrhoids.. Nope not what I said. Your body will tell you at the same time every day I need to poop. And then with all this you become well and balanced. That's it the big secrete is out.
4. detox with juice, herbs and teas at the same times every year as they do in nature. spring and fall. unless you feel a need for some other reason to do it at another time also..

juicing celery love it...

Celery juice is highly nutritious and one of the most hydrating foods we can put in our bodies. Because it is incredibly alkalizing, it equalizes the body's PH, which is vital for peak health. In ancient times, it was considered a medicinal herb used to treat a variety of health complaints. The minerals and vitamins and nutrients are in perfect harmony with each other. Celery leaves are high in vitamin A, whilst the stems are an excellent source of vitamins B1, B2, B6 and C and dense in potassium, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and essential amino acids.

This super food also contains important concentrations of plant hormones and the very special essential oils that give celery its characteristic smell. These oils help to regulate the nervous system, and are very calming.

Celery is rich in sodium, which is very different to table salt. Normal table salt is composed of insoluble inorganic compounds which lead to the development of varicose veins, hardening of the arteries and other aliments. If salt, including sea salt is white, then it has been processed and all minerals and nutrients have been destroyed.

On the other hand, the sodium that is available in celery is soluble and organic (live), and is essential for the body. Organic salt allows the body to use the other nutrients that are taken into the body. Every cell in our body is constantly bathed in a salt solution, and if the salt level is not in balance, dehydration occurs. This is why celery juice is a perfect rehydration drink for athletes.

Other Benefits of Celery Juice

Fights Cancer - Celery is known to contain at least eight families of anti-cancer compounds. A study at Rutgers University of New Jersey found that celery contains a number of compounds that help prevent cancer cells from spreading. Celery contains compounds called acetylenics and this compound has been shown to stop the growth of tumor cells. Celery contains other compounds called phonolic acids that block the action of hormone-like substances called prostaglandins, which encourage the growth of tumor cells. Coumarins, another phytonutrient in celery helps prevent free-radicals from damaging cells and prevent the formation and development of the colon and stomach cancers.

Lowers Cholesterol - Laboratory studies also indicate that butyl phthalide, a chemical in celery, may help reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol. According to researchers at the University of Chicago, celery reduces cholesterol levels by as much as 7 points with as little as 2 stalks a day. Celery also aids in increasing bile acid secretion which helps to remove cholesterol from the body.

Aids in Digestion - Special nutrients in the fiber are released during juicing that aid bowel movements. This makes celery a natural laxative that helps to relieve constipation. It also helps relax nerves that have been overworked by man-made laxatives.

Diuretic - The potassium and sodium in celery juice are powerful body fluid regulators that stimulate urine production to help rid the body of excess fluid.

Anti Inflammatory - The polyacetylene in celery is an amazing relief for all inflammation including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, asthma and bronchitis. A study published in the Proceeding of the National Academy of Science U.S.A found that another powerful phytonutrient called luteolin prevents activation of a pathway that allows inflammation in the brain to get switched on. Luteolin also inhibits the excess production of TNF-alpha, a direct cause of inflammation. Juice is the most efficient and nutritious way to eat celery, and people who have these conditions can drink as much juice as desired without overdosing.

Lower blood pressure - Celery's potential for reducing high blood pressure has long been recognized by Chinese medicine. Studies show that drinking celery juice every day for 1 week can significantly help lower blood pressure. A compound called phtalides helps relax the muscles around the arteries, dilating the vessels and allowing blood to flow smoothly. Pthalides also reduce stress hormones, one of whose effects is to cause blood vessels to constrict. When researchers injected 3-n-butyl phthalide derived from celery into laboratory animals, the animals' blood pressure dropped 12 to 14 percent. Celery amazingly doesn't lower blood pressure which is already low.

Insomnia - The minerals and essential oils in celery juice have a calming effect on the nervous system, making it beneficial for insomniacs. Its high magnesium levels help people to relax into a soothing and restful sleep.

Weight loss - Drinking celery juice frequently throughout the day helps curb cravings for sweet. It is filling without putting any extra pounds on.

Elimination and Prevention of stones - Celery juice is an amazing eliminator of toxins from the body, which aids in the breaking and elimination of urinary and gall bladder stones. This lovely juice helps those who have suffered from stones from getting them again.

Increased Sexuality - Celery juice is beneficial for weak sexuality, yet doesn't cause an uncontrollable urge as some pharmaceutical drugs do. Celery balances the system rather than increasing it.

Celery can be juiced with any other fruits or vegetables. A particularly delicious and powerful combination is carrot, apple, cucumber and celery.

25 weird food facts

(NaturalNews) The veil is lifted on the world of food processing and manufacturing in an eye-opening new report published by nutritional advocacy media group NaturalNews.com. They've just released a free, downloadable (PDF) report entitled, "25 Amazing (and Weird) Facts about How Food is Made and Where it Comes From." The report is freely downloadable at:

www.naturalnews.com/RR-25-Amazing-a...

It reveals some very surprising facts about food processing and manufacturing, including:

• The chemical flame retardant chemical you'll find lurking in most citrus-flavored sodas.

• How factory-farmed egg-laying chickens are deliberately fed brightly-colored objects (such as yellow flower petals) to result in a more appealing color of their egg yolks.

• How a high-tech company reverse-engineered the human genome to develop chemically-targeted taste blockers and enhancers that are secretly added to snack foods.

• What hot dog casings are really made out of.

• Why high-fructose corn syrup, in addition to being linked to diabetes and obesity, is almost always extracted from genetically modified corn (GM corn).

• How Textured Vegetable Protein is often processed using a highly explosive chemical solvent.

• Why french fries create an internal cancer-causing chemical when they're fried in hot oil.

All these facts, plus over a dozen more, are documented in the new report: "25 Amazing (and Weird) Facts about How Food is Made and Where it Comes From."

This report is the latest in a series of educational documentaries and downloadable guides created by NaturalNews and Mike Adams, a consumer health advocate and industry whistleblower. His hugely popular "Food Investigations" video documentary on fake blueberries in breakfast cereals has received over two million views: www.FoodInvestigations.com

Adams is the executive director of the non-profit Consumer Wellness Center (www.ConsumerWellness.com) and the editor of NaturalNews.com, one of the top 1,000 highest-trafficked websites in America and now read by nearly four million people each month.

juicing great for the skin-cucumber

-----------------------------------------------------------------Cucumber-

Some of the health properties of cucumber are potassium, sodium, calcium, phosphorus and choline. Cucumber is also a great source of silica, which improves the complexion, giving you healthy beautiful skin.
Ladies, you really should try this one:I know a woman who juices a combination of cucumbers and apples. What's the result? Well... People ask her why her skin/complexion is so beautiful.
Cucumber is also good for liver problems, dry skin, sunburn, healthy hair and nails.
How to pick:

Do not choose cucumbers that are yellow or bruised.

Here's a juicing recipe using Cucumber:

½ of a cucumber (peeled)

1 pounds of carrots (washed, topped, and tailed)

2-3 apples (washed and stems removed)
Even though fresh cucumbers
are mostly composed of water,
they still pack a lot of nutrition.
The flesh of cucumbers is a very
good source of vitamins A, C,
and folic acid. The hard skin is
rich in fiber and a variety of
minerals including magnesium,
silica, molybdenum, and
potassium.

Cucumber is an excellent source
of silica, which is a trace mineral
that contributes to the strength
of our connective tissue.
Connective tissue is what holds our body together. Cucumbers are effective when used for various skin problems,
including swelling under the eyes and sunburn. They also contain ascorbic and caffeic
acids. These acids prevent water retention. That may explain why when cucumbers
are applied topically they are often helpful for swollen eyes, burns, and dermatitis.

Cucumbers are incredibly low in calories, just 16 calories per 1 cup, and have no fat, cholesterol or sodium. In addition, one serving of cucumbers has just 3 grams of carbs—enough to give you energy without pesky side effects! Cucumber nutrition facts also reveal a relatively high fiber content, which when combined with the 1 gram of protein per cup, gives cucumbers its fat burning properties.
It’s important to note that while cucumbers do not have large quantities of vitamins and minerals in them, one small cup does provide you with small doses of nearly all essential vitamins and nutrients.
Eating one serving of cucumbers will give you vitamins A, C, K, B6 and B12 as well as folate and thiamin. Aside from salt, all minerals are present and accounted for in one cup of cucumbers, including; calcium, iron, manganese, selenium, zinc and potassium. (ooops i already said that sorry i repeat me self alot I'm kids think its to make them remember,,, well lets go with that.lolol...)
What this means is that although there are no nutritional rock stars, cucumber nutrition facts provide a great way to boost your daily vitamin and mineral intake.
Health Benefits of Cucumbers
Because of its high water content many health benefits of cucumber are physical, such as clear skin, reduction in under eye swelling and sunburn relief. But the water content in cucumbers is also responsible for helping rid your body of toxins that can make you sick. Did you get that repeat...
Although not a fat burning superstar on its own, adding cucumber to a salad can help boost your daily fiber intake for increased fat burning for weight loss. And thanks to the water content, you’ll get the fluid you need to help process fiber. The peel of the cucumber is an excellent source of dietary fiber than can relieve constipation and protect against some types of colon cancer.
One cup of cucumbers has 16 micrograms of magnesium and 181 mg of potassium, which can help control and reduce high blood pressure. When combined with a well-balanced diet, cucumbers can help you regulate blood pressure.
Another major health benefit of cucumbers that often goes unnoticed is due to the 12% of vitamin K found in just 1 cup. This vitamin helps build bone strength, which can reduce risk of osteoporosis and arthritis.
So, what else can you do to take advantage of the health benefits of cucumbers?

Dandelion has been used in many herbal remedies around the globe, but Dandelion has been mainly used for two of them, as a liver cleanse and as blood purifier and diuretic [2][9]. Dandelion root helps the liver to produce more bile (choleretic property)[2][8], that later on is sent to the gallbladder to be used, helping the gallbladder to contract and release (cholagogue property) [2] this stored bile, which also helps to assimilate the fats.
  • HUMAN MELANOMA
  • In the skin cancer known as human melanoma, dandelion root extract was proven to be effective against the resistant G361 human melanoma cell, when combined with the metabolism interfering anti-type II diabetic drug metformin [11], showing a potential use of Dandelion root as a treatment for this type of melanoma cells.
The use of Dandelion root extract for the treatment of certain type of leukemia cells showed a certain effectiveness too.

    DANDELION ROOT BENEFITS FOR ARTERIOSCLEROSIS
Dandelion´s root has also many medicinal properties, some of them as important as the anti-oxidative function. Dandelion´s root and leaf have been scientifically proven as an herbal remedy against oxidative stress linked to arteriosclerosis [8].
    DANDELION ROOT BENEFITS FOR DIABETES
Some other uses of dandelion root include its use as coffee substitute [3][4]. Less documented but still proven, dandelion root has also been used in Europe to treat diabetes [5][7], probably because of its properties as blood sugar stabilizer [10].
Dandelion root helps to decrease high blood pressure [9]. Dandelion root has also been used for its herbal properties to ease uterus cramps [10].

    Dandelion Root
Dandelion is more than just a common lawn weed, it contains vital nutrients and minerals as well as vitamins A,B,C and D. Dandelion has been used for centuries as a primary herb that purifies the blood and flushes toxins out of the body, via the liver and kidneys. Today, Dandelion is commonly found in salads, wines and multi-herbal combinations. Rich in calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus and sodium, Dandelion is ideal for treating high blood pressure and poor digestion by stimulating the circulation of blood to the entire body.
Dandelion's anti-inflammatory properties help alleviate inflammation and muscle spasms, plus it acts as a mild laxative relieveing constipation. Dandelion, unlike some chemical diet supplements, will not deplete the body of potassium when used for weight loss.
Acts by straining and filtering toxins & wastes from the bloodstream. Dandelion exhibits hypoglycemic effects in experimental animals, and its beneficial effects on liver complaints have been well documented by both Asian practitioners and American physicians. It stimulates bile production, and helps the body get rid of excess water produced by the diseased liver. Dandelion extracts are said to also benefit the spleen, and improve the health of the pancreas. Dandelion root has also been shown to have potential for fighting cancer. It is important to note here that this herb has been shown to uniformly remedy chronic liver congestion, and has also been used in medical practice to successfully treat hepatitis, swelling of the liver, jaundice, and dyspepsia with deficient bile secretion.

    Side Effects and Precaution
For Dandelion root side effects and precautions see disclaimer below.

Please consider  MY ONE OF MANY FAVORITES***dandelions (Taxacum officinale) nuisance plants, however; they are in fact cultivated commercially in Europe and the U.S. for their health benefits. Dandelions have been used for many years in herbal medicine for treating poor digestion, water retention and diseases of the liver, such as hepatitis. A wide range of compounds is found in its flowers, roots and leaves, including sesquiterpene lactones, phytosterols, phenolic acids, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals.
A water extract from dandelion leaves proved beneficial to diabetic rats in one study by correcting hyperglycemia (the presence of an abnormally high concentration of glucose in the blood) and preventing complications from exposure to lipid peroxidation and free radicals.
In Korea, dandelion roots are used to treat a variety of infectious viral diseases due to their ability to activate the production of nitric oxide, which is known to be effective against a variety of bacteria, parasites and tumors.
The presence of oligofructans in dandelion root extracts also enhances the growth of bifidobacteria making it a potential prebiotic.
Another study displayed the anticancer properties of dandelion roots because of their cytoxicity to human hepatoma cancer cells. Inducing the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines, TNF-a and IL-Ia, dandelion roots caused the cell death or apoptosis of these cancer cells.
A recent Canadian study showed that dandelion flower extracts also have antioxidant properties. The phenolic compounds in the extracts studied were responsible for reducing the formation of reactive oxygen and reactive nitrogen species in chemical and biological models, respectively. The latter are associated with the development of a variety of chronic conditions, such as cancer and coronary heart disease.
DANDELION greens are commonly used in treating anemia. They are a good source of iron, folic acid, calcium, potassium and trace minerals. Also a traditional remedy for osteoarthritis. Recommended a half-cup morning and evening. Dandelion is also a traditional remedy for healing rheumatoid arthritis and tendonitis; contains phytochemicals believed to deactivate the TB bacteria. Fights water retention.
