Mineral Punch




3 large kale leaves

2 handfuls spinach

8 romaine lettuce leaves

4 red apples



Wash produce and slice apples into wedges. Process ingredients in juicer. Serve immediately.

Sometimes I fast for spiritual reason¾fasting can be an oasis where I can go to, to draw spiritual refreshment, away from the demands of this materialistic world. And sometimes I juice fast simply to detox or to rid off some extra pounds.

I personally find that juice fasting is one of the best and faster way to detox and to lose weight, for two simple reasons:
  • It effectively removes toxins; and
  • It feeds the body with nutrients that repairs, rebuilds and regenerates.
By juice fasting, we allow our digestive system to take a much needed rest. At the same time, we take in fresh fruit/vegetable in the form of juices that contains the necessary nutrients to help repair the damaged cells, heal and nourish.
The anti-oxidants from the juices neutralize free radicals and oxidation that are harmful to our body. It is this oxidation that is the root cause of many degenerative diseases in our body. Juicing forces out the precious nutrients within the fruit or vegetable fibers that compensate for what our body may have been lacking through months or years of reckless eating habits.
Fruit and vegetables are loaded with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, bioflavonoids, phytonutrients and carotenoids, which our body can easily digest and assimilate when taken in as juices.
You ask why don't we just eat the fruits whole. Well, consider a carrot. If you were to eat a carrot, your body is able to assimilate only a very small percentage of the beta-carotene. But when you drink carrot juice, your body is able to assimilate nearly 100% of the beta-carotene! This amount of beta-carotene can do much wonders for the repair and healing of your damaged cells, thus speeding up healing.
During a juice fast, the body is stimulated to greater metabolic and eliminative activity. After a prolonged fast, you will notice that you will lose some weight, your skin tightens or clears up, hair shines, your eyes brighten, and you will feel more energetic and sleep less.

In the absence of food, the body cells will start to go around the body and feed on other dead cells, damaged tissues, and fatty deposits. These will be burned as fuel for energy when it has no access to food intake.

On prolonged juice fasts, cleansing takes place even into those hard-to-reach places. After feeding on the dead tissues and fats, the cells would have run out on them, and start feeding instead on abscesses, and even tumors. The body undergoes a tearing down of damaged materials and when fed with nutrition (from fresh juices), rebuilding and healing takes place.
Most healing starts to take place only after about 21 days of fasting. This prolonged period allows the body uninterrupted time to do the meticulous work of healing. When your physical flesh comes under pressure from weakness, it forces you to become detached so that you can quietly observe and realize who you really are. It can be a very humbling experience when even pride of life can be broken.
When you become spiritually bankrupt with nothing to turn to, you face a vacuum in your life that only God can fill. When you have nothing, then you realize that your dependence on God's mercy enables you to have the same mercy on others.
Ask God to bring to remembrance and bring release to those who have hurt you, and those whom you have hurt. Forgiveness releases you from the bondages of fear, doubt, guilt and hopelessness.
