The different types of juicers defer in how they work. Some of the common types include centrifugal, centrifugal ejection, masticating, manual press, single auger, dual cage auger and twin press.
Centrifugal juicer
A centrifugal juicer cuts up the fruit or vegetable with a flat cutting blade. It then spins the produce at a high speed (3,000-14,000 RPMs) to separate the juice from the pulp.[
Centrifugal ejection juicers operate much the same way as a centrifugal juicer except that the sides of the basket are slanted. This is for the basket to allow to ‘self-clean’ so you won’t need to stop the juicer and empty it out. The pulp then is ejected out of the machine into a collection bin or a basket that is in lined with a plastic bag to which it collect the pulp and discarded easily.
Because of the shorten time of the pulp to be in contact with the basket, these juicers must spin faster than a centrifugal juicer in about 6300 rpm. However, since it spins faster, this is by far the noisiest of all juicers. There are those centrifugal ejection juicers that feature a large feed chute with a three inches diameter that allows the user to juice without cutting the produce.
Masticating juicers work is a multi stage process. The masticating juicer chews or masticates the fruit or vegetable to break down the fibres and cell wall struture of the pulp. The next stage is to extract the juice from the broken down pulp by pressing it into a smaller space thus squeezing the pulp to discharge the juice.
Masticating juicers are good for juicing vegetables because their masticating action is efficient at breaking down the vegetable cell walls which tend to be tougher than their fruit counterparts. Because they are efficient at breaking down tough vegetable fibres masticating juicers are sometimes capable of juicing wheatgrass.
A manual press is a type of juicer that uses pressure to produce juice by squeezing the produce to extract the juice in a two-step process: first shredding the produce and then pressing the liquid out of it.
Single Auger masticating juicers use a slow rotating screw that allows you to crush produce against a stainless steel filter with a process that is basically similar to a mincing machine.
Well these are the kind and here are some answers to what they are. You have to deside what you want and what works for you. Anything is better than nothing. I say get one at a yard sale or cheap 20.00 or so from some where then take notes what you hate and what you like. And the most IMPORTANT will I DO THIS. Before I spend to much money.
